Circa English 1870, a rare faux burl walnut book slide featuring a pair of gilt brass gothic revival style mounts enclosing an oval Sevres hand painted porcelain plaque of a woman. The faux painted burl wood and is quite exceptional in detail, depth and richness of color. Note: one brad missing in a lower right corner (see 2nd photo). In very good antique condition, it measures 6.25 inches high, 5.75” deep, and 13” long. Extends up to 22.5” long.

Rare matching set of sterling silver and blue guilloche enamel cufflinks, 6 stud buttons, and two hinged hat pins in their original box from Birks Jewelers of Canada. The hatpins are amazing, measuring 10.75 inches long. The enamel is an ice blue with slightly off white circular band with gold wiring on each side. Set of 3 Brutalist cast bronze candles in the shape of drip beeswax column candles. Even though you can stick a candle on them, they look terrific grouped together as an art form which is what I believe the artist intended. Very heavy, they measure 13 inches, 8.5 inches, and 7.75 inches high. All 3 are 3.25 inches in diameter.

A spectacular Chinese coconut wood carved crab box of the Guangxu period. Every detail is done to high excellence with the utmost attention to detail; even the the crabs with their markings are painted to realistic perfection. The basket appears woven but is itself carved. This is a rare and unusual treasure and is in perfect condition, measuring 4.5 inches high and 4.25 inches at widest point. Circa 1900

A set of three nesting Japanese Imari porcelain bowls. Richly decorated and gilded, all 3 bowls are identical and are signed on the bottom. Dates circa 1875.

Edo Era, circa 1850s-1860s, Japanese red lacquer over wood Japanese Bento Box in 5 sections. The exterior features Shibayama style of inlay on a red lacquer ground with the interior and underside being black lacquer. The Shibayama design has several types of stone inlays including MOP with branching, cherry blossoms, leaves, buds and rockery all done in raised work. The workmanship is very good. Eye-catching patinated bronze swan statue on a black marble base.. This curvilinear design is reminiscent of the Art Deco period. The edges of the marble base are beveled and the corners are rounded; it all feels very smooth. Unsigned, there was green felt on the bottom that was removed, but enough remains that it will protect a wood surface from scratching. In excellent condition, it measures 16.12ʺ long × 4.12ʺ deep × 11.75ʺ high.

A square Chinese cloisonne enamel gau box with four arched apertures and gold gilt strap loops for personal carrying. Richly decorated on a yellow ground with designs of formal lotus and foliage, the top side panel has a dark blue fylfot. The back panel, with the large red Shou-type character, slides up to open. Made for the Tibetan market, this dates early to mid 19th century, but could possibly be late 18th. Measures 3.35 inches high, 3" across, 1" deep.

Circa 1860, A gorgeous Napoleon style gold gilt bronze hand mirror with beveled glass. Carved in high relief is a tender scene of a young man teaching a maiden to play the flute. A sheep is in the foreground. The scene is surround by 3 bands of enameling: black, white, and deep blue with a gold foliate design. In excellent antique condition, it measures 11.75 inches long x 6.5" across.

A truly magnificent Qianjiang porcelain vase C.1880's, this vase has all the added features not normally encountered in Qianjiang porcelain. First, it is a human figural painting, secondly it is a painting of two foo dogs, and that with beautiful calligraphy in red and black to the sides of the paintings. As an added bonus, this vase comes with the original papers and reciept of purchase. It was purchased in China in 1980 when genuine antiques could still be purchased; and yet legal to purchase...

An unused Chinese civil 5th rank silver pheasant (baixian) badge in original paper wrapping. Background is black silk with a border of bats and the “shou” character. Eight Buddhist symbols are featured with the endless knot having been created using the forbidden stitch. Made for the front of a woman's surcoat, this rank badge is in excellent condition, measures 12", and dates late 19th century.

Early 1800's underglaze cobalt blue decorated Chinese tea bowl stands. The center of the dish is open with a raised collar and the opening designed to accommodate a footed tea bowl. The underside is decorated with concentric rings and three stylized bats. The side of the foot ring is decorated with auspicious symbols. In very good condition showing very little sign of wear. They measure 4 inches diameter, interior diameter 2 1/8" and 1 1/8" high.

19th C Meissen "Love Captive" porcelain hand painted figurine of Cupid putting a heart into a cage. In excellent condition, it is marked with cross swords in underglaze on the base. Measures about 4.5" high, 2.5" wide, 2.5" deep. Circa 1880. We also have "Love Crowned", see last photo.

A fine Roman blown glass bottle in a deep amethyst color. Most likely a medicinal flask or unguent vial. It is evenly translucent with very little earthen deposits and encrustation. Quite rare and beautifully well preserved, it dates circa 1st-3rd century A.D. Measurements 4.75" x 3".

Czech Art Deco zoomorphic 1930’s swan-form decanter by Karel Palda. Hand-blown glass body and handle with a silver plated head having a flip top pour spout. It is marked Czechoslovakia on lid hinge. In excellent vintage condition, it measures 12" high.

An impressive magnifying glass with a carved ivory handle with 18 natural red coral beads. We believe the ivory handle to be a Meiji period Japanese parasol handle and sometime in its history converted to a magnifying glass. In very good antique condition with all beads intact, the handle measures 5 inches x 1 1/8". Magnifying glass with handle is 10.5 inches long.

Rare Josef Rindskoph red Papillion vase with an exceptional iridescent crackle exterior finish that is highly iridized and textured, ruffled top, polished pontil, unsigned. In excellent condition, this stunning vase measures 13 inches high and 6.5” diameter. Dates circa 1920.
