A striking Japanese black cloisonne box with a hinged lid. The lid features flowers and a tree at the water's edge. The bottom is decorated with scrolling wires against a black ground. The scrolling wire pattern continues on the sides and is accented with small white flowers. In excellent condition, it measures 3.5" by 4" by 1.5" high. Size would have worked for use as a cigarette box. Dates early 20th C.

Very rare, circa 1888, English tapestry ware biscuit jar with hand painted scenes of a pair of quail and a pair of herons in their appropriate settings. The surface is very clean and feels smooth to the touch. Marked on bottom is the Taylor,Tunnicliffe & Co. of Hanley with the rare Kings Crown logo which was registered in 1886. In excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repairs, it measures 6" high With handle down x 5.5 diameter.

Very collectible ink cake of a Chinese woman in traditional Chinese attire wearing padded armor and holding the Chinese Army (1912 -1929)flag while her left hand crosses over body and rests on the sword pummel. The detailing is excellent and this is one of those items that looks better in person than in the photos. We feel comfortable with a pre-1920 dating. An unusual pair of hand embroidered Chinese silk pouches with auspicious symbols. The color contrast is stunning, each has its original silk tassels. These pouches also have their original drawstrings yet intact. These pouches may have been used for eyeglasses and /or general use. In excellent condition with only minimal fading, which is remarkable considering their age, the pouches measure 6" (15.2 cm) long. The tassels measure 5" (12.7 cm).
