Although not marked, this art glass piece bears the styling and quality of Victorian pieces made by the Stevens and Williams Ltd of England and in the 1870s under the direction of John Northwood (son Harry Northwood was a glass maker in America). The body is an oval pill-shaped translucent light turquoise glass with an open oval top that is bordered with a scalloped ribbon crest. At each narrow end is a small applique of amber glass. Civil War Union General staff button by Scovill of Waterbury, CT. In the 2006 appraisal there is an attached note that read, "Josephine, a button from the Confederate uniform from father S. A. Ashe." This Josephine was Sam Ashe's (S. A. Ashe) sister. William Shepard Ashe, whose button this belonged to, was Secretary of Transportation for the CSA. A fine, circa 1700-1730, English walnut writing chest strung with boxwood and crossbanded. The three-drawer superstructure has a fold flap above two short and two long drawers on a molded plinth and small compressed bun feet. In excellent antique condition, it measures 36ʺ wide × 18.25ʺ deep × 35ʺ high.

French Aesthetic Movement sterling silver bookmark featuring a bright cut design. They can be monogrammed and can also be used as a letter opener. In excellent condition, they measure 4.5" long. Sold separately at $95 each plus shipping.

Rich Green majolica plate by Wardle of England with leaf and grape pattern. Note the intentional crackling of the glaze in the large leaf. In excellent antique condition with some expected wear to the higher parts of the design and the edges. There is an old chip on the back (see last photo). The glaze is good throughout, any weird variations you might think you see are cause by my lighting. Plate measures 9 inches across. Dates 1880.

1840's English flow blue 9.5" plate, Scinde pattern Marked "Oriental Stone", it was made by J. & G Alcock.

Small French majolica dish. Very nice details in the mold with a wonderful selection and blending of colors. In excellent condition it measures 5.5" x 5.5". Dates circa 1910.

An unusual folding silver lorgnette with nose pads. In excellent condition including the glass, they come with their original case. Chain is sterling. A very interesting piece for the collector. The lenses measure 1.5" in diameter. Dates circa 1920

A stunning American brilliant cut glass carafe or water bottle featuring and an unusual shaped body. It is in excellent condition measuring 8" high and 7.5" diameter. This is a wonderful piece for the collector and would also be a great wedding gift.

An Akan gilt metal gold weight cast as a bird on round tapering base. The Akan gold weights are quite unique in the world for their forms. Their weights are so distinguished by their shape that they are now considered decorative art forms only few inches in size. Historically, they were used for measuring gold dust, which was circulating as currency in Ghana and Ivory Coast among the Akans from the 15th until the end of the 19th century. Measures 2.75 inches high and dates late 1800s.

Having a very sweet face, this china head doll dates circa 1860. She is complete with a dress and pantaloons. One foot is missing, but it does not detract from the presentation. Measures 9.5" high.

A tasteful Edwardian rectangular serving tray, solid oak with brass enforced rounded corners, authentic warm patina. In excellent condition, it measures 15.5 inches long by 9.75" wide. Dates circa 1900.

Rare sterling silver baby rattle featuring an etched inscription, depicting birth date, a clock motif signifying birth time, and birth weight. Hard-to-find with a clock, this is terrific piece for the collector. Dates 1940 or earlier. In good condition with some light wear to the sterling finish, it measures 3.5" long and 1.25" diameter. Total weight is 0.63 ozt

Pair of mid 19th century cut crystal Irish finger bowls measuring about 4 inches in diameter and 3 inches high. A rare find dating circa 1850.

Antique English Staffordshire blue and white transferware plate by Rogers with a very dramatic scene. On the back it is named "The Drama". In very good condition commensurate with age. There is a small chip to the underside of the plate rim that is not seen from the front. Measures just under 8.75" diameter.
