An antique Fubako, letter box, of a rarely seen design with a black ground having a flowing gold sprinkled pattern featuring wheel and wind/water designs in relief. Set of 8 Chinese porcelain plates, each decorated in Kangxi style with a peacock standing in a landscape with its tail fanned out and encircled by an elaborate band with fan and lozenge shaped vignettes of blossoming and fruiting sprigs within diaper bands. All in excellent antique condition with very little wear to the enamels. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Measure 8.5" diameter x 1 high.

Late 19th century French round bronze plaque of Baby Moses. Quite heavy for its size, the plaque has 3 small drilled holes where it was attached to something. Has a wonderful patina that only comes with age. Measures 4.75" diameter and about 3/4" deep.

An unusual late 19th C Chinese teapot of quatrefoil form applied with a bamboo form spout set opposite a bamboo handle. Decorated around the sides in shades of blue and white enamel with flower heads on mint green scrolling foliage, the flattened cover is similarly decorated and surmounted by a leaf form knop. A wonderful item for the collector of Chinese porcelains. Measures: 8" long, 4.25" wide, and 2.5" high.

Original Japanese woodblock print by Yoshitoshi (1839-1892) of a Japanese captive insulting the King of Ancient Korea. From the series Kyodo Risshiki (Instructive Biographies) and published by Matsuki Heikichi, it is dated 1885. In excellent condition, it measures 14.75 inches high, 10" across.

Mid to late 19th c American hand carved wood thermometer with engraved brass temperature plate. Interesting to note is that Preezing is the spelling for Freezing. Today this spelling for temperature is only used in scientific literature. A rare find. Possibly an early Taylor thermometer. Measures: 16.25" high

19th C French black papier-mache with gold gilt and mother-of-pearl decoration. The wind-up clock was made in Great Britain and the paper-mache surround was created in France. In excellent restored condition, it measures 19" diameter.

6 French majolica asparagus plates with a yellow basket weave pattern edged by a scalloped turquoise rim. The plates features 4 purple tipped asparagus spears laying on a large green artichoke leaf against a turquoise ground. A 19th C black lacquered Victorian papier-mache tabletop box with a gold Chinoiserie scene. The lid is decorated with monks in a Chinese style garden where as the sides are decorated with noble families at leisure in a similar Chinese garden. An unusual Tibeto-Chinese cloisonne gau box having a domed and hinged cover with a multi-colored scroll pattern surrounding a central cartouche. The cartouche features the Tibetan character “hum” which translates as “the spirit of enlightenment” or “the enlightened mind”. This gau would have been worn by a high ranking lama. Pair of French heavy weight gilt bronze candlesticks with inkwell having banded agate cabochons. The agate stones were carefully cut with white stripe in the center of each stone to give the appearance of an "eye". Dating circa 1840, this desk set is in excellent condition and features a grape pattern. Candlesticks can be used separately when the occasion arises. In excellent condition, candlesticks are 8" high x 3 5/8" diameter. Inkwell measures 4.5" diameter 4.5" high.

19th C Chinese shagreen over copper eyeglass case with a carnelian toggle on silk tassel of Shou Lao, the Buddhist god of longevity. In very good antique condition having some damage that seems to have been stabilized on the upper left top edge. Measures 7 inches x 3".
