Early 20th century Chinese hand made moss green pottery storage jar featuring an unusual cut out in the lid for easy lifting. The jar interior is glazed dark brown with the rim having a clear glaze. The green glaze is thick and rich. The lid has 3 small chips on the exterior unglazed part of the rim that can be studied in the photos, otherwise in excellent condition. This is a very special jar measuring 6 inches, 7 inches diameter.

A small cast iron Japanese tetsubin of slightly flared cylindrical form, decorated in relief to one side with maple leaves floating on a stream against a textured ground. The backside is plain save for the textured ground and the foundry mark for Kinshudo. The cover is flat with a pine cone finial and the handle can be moved to either side. In excellent condition, it measures 2.5 inches high excluding the handle, diameter about 3" at widest. Dates late 19th Century.

A Japanese Kutani porcelain Koro or incense burner, with a round body raised on three animal-mask legs and applied with shishi-mask handles. The domed, pierced cover is surmounted with a further shishi. The whole decorated in overglaze enamels with peacock and golden pheasant amid rocks and peonies, all on a yellow "roe" ground. Antique English Staffordshire blue and white transferware plate by Rogers with a very dramatic scene. On the back it is named "The Drama". In very good condition commensurate with age. There is a small chip to the underside of the plate rim that is not seen from the front. Measures just under 8.75" diameter.
