A spectacular and intricately detailed painted Japanese Satsuma Koro. The painted features display Buddhist monks surrounded by an encircling phoenix on either side, beautifully gilted and accented with flowers and four legs that sport foo dog faces. A very rare caneware tureen in the form of a cabbage with a mother rabbit and 3 bunnies peeking out of the lid. The cabbage with tureen rests on a matching plate. A beautifully preserved Han dynasty amber glazed lidded hu jar (221B.C.-206A.D) with the original kiln supports fully intact, located on the foot. The jar is free from any hairlines or repairs.
