Intricately hand carved Chinese plant stand with a scalloped edged marble inset. In excellent original antique condition with a beautiful warm patina, it measures 36 inches high, 21 inches outside center diameter, 13.5" across top. Circa 1860

Early 1900s turquoise snuff bottle with a landscape scene having carved openwork and just loads of things going on. A very fine colored turquoise with a wonderful surface polish. It is presented on an equally fine earlier zitan, or similar, wood stand. Both are in excellent condition. A marvelous oval shaped Chinese tortoise shell box with enameling featuring a bamboo and floral pattern with auspicious symbols on a carved top and the side bands. An interior mirror under the fitted lid shows some age related wear. The tortoise shell is in excellent antique condition, no cracks and there is no visible loss to the enamel. This is a rare treasure which displays beautifully. Measures 6 inches long, 5" wide, 1.5 inches high. Circa 1880.

Circa 1880, Chinese red cinnabar circular box with stand. The box is presented on a carved wood stand having several coats of cinnabar lacquer, giving it the appearance of a solid carved cinnabar stand. Extremely well done and deeply carved, the scene depicts a well known Chinese story about Kuan Ti’s defense of Lin Bang's wife before the advance of Hsian Yu. Please note the beautifully carved horse. In excellent condition, the box including stand measures 5.5" diameter x 5.5" high...

One of the best shiwan (shekwan) sculptures we've ever encountered, this large masterpiece displays the legendary Laozi riding an ox: Laozi means "old master". It is said that he mounted an ox and headed west, before leaving, the border guard asked if he would write down his ideas, which Laozi obliged to do, thus he wrote the Tao-te ching (Book of Changes)...

Late 19th century zitan chair featuring a serpentine top rail above an open back with a square tablet incised with two archaic vases on a stand within scrolls over a cleated seat on square legs and stretchers. Wear consistent with age and use. Very good condition. Measures 21.5ʺW × 16.5ʺD × 40.5ʺH

Early 20th century, Chinese 17" jadeite ruyi scepter featuring a double fish. This scepter is carved from a solid piece of jadeite with the prettiest shades of mottled blues, greens and whites and has a gorgeous polish. Set of 8 Chinese porcelain plates, each decorated in Kangxi style with a peacock standing in a landscape with its tail fanned out and encircled by an elaborate band with fan and lozenge shaped vignettes of blossoming and fruiting sprigs within diaper bands. All in excellent antique condition with very little wear to the enamels. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines. Measure 8.5" diameter x 1 high.

A fine Chinese scholar's agate brusher washer with many of the stems and leaves worked away from the vessel in an open worked manner. The stone is a translucent light grey to almost clear color with the stems and leaves having light russet colors terminating in the leaves to an orange hue. The overall appearance resembles a lotus leaf curling on the edges with stems, leaves, and seed pod that are worked over top and around all sides including the bottom...

A beautifully preserved Han dynasty amber glazed lidded hu jar (221B.C.-206A.D) with the original kiln supports fully intact, located on the foot. The jar is free from any hairlines or repairs. The glaze is nearly and entirely intact, just slightly grazed in spots. It is extremely rare to find an amber glaze jar from the Han dynasty. It is even rarer to find one with its intact lid that is free from repairs...

A richly illustrated Chinese book with 10 silk paintings about the story of the red chamber. The features of this album are nothing less than remarkable, hand made paper with the paintings hand painted on very fine silk. The story is written in both Chinese and English, the typeface is the much older type dating to the 1930's. The album is handmade after the oriental fashion...

Two very rare and large Canton enamel vases on the original wooden stands with lovely rich patina and bright well painted scenes of the Chinese goddess Chang'e. These quatrefoil vases enables the owner to change the scenes at will by merely turning the vase to a different panel. This is rare to find in Chinese vases of the period. These date to the late 19th C. One of the stands are inscribed 'China' with a backwards 'N' to help authenticate period...

A superb Chinese porcelain vase richly painted in a color hue that is seldom seen, with mauve blue and purple, moss green and saffron yellow with rich iron red accents. This large vase displays a whimsical scene of boys at play. Notice as one boy over reacts as a spider dangles from his hand held fan, a cat awaits for his chance to pounce his new found play toy, another little boy hides behind his mother in fear of the commotion...

Late Qing to early Republic Chinese carved agate lidded vase. Colors include a multi color orange, reddish brown and natural tone that was carved with nice details and open work. The lid and vase are nicely hollowed inside. The birds are fly catchers amongst flowers stems and leaves showing some stunning markings. The lid is so neat with another bird nestled in a flowered stem. The surfaces having a superb polish and fine incised details makes the vase a very showy piece...

A pair of rare 19th C Chinese hand carved hardwood, possibly Hong Mu wood, Scholars desk trays in a large lily pad leaf design with flower heads. Each being slightly different, one has a bird’s head and the other a nice protruding stem between the flower heads, they were made to be displayed together. These were finished with a mix of beeswax and a few other natural concoctions the Chinese used to seal the finish and give it a great mellow sheen...

Circa 1850, Chinese flattened circular form black tixi lacquer box. Decorated with alternating layers of black and red cinnabar lacquer deeply carved to create intricate designs, the box has a beautiful sheen to the surface so that the layers of lacquer simply pop! On the bottom you can see the swirling layers of black lacquer. High quality and in excellent condition, it measures 3” diameter, 1” high.

Large 19th Century or earlier Chinese Tibetan thanka. Bordered with silk brocade, the thangka has a cloth backing In excellent antique condition, the thanka as pictured measures 31 inches across x 44" long. The actual thanka measures 20" across x 29" long.
