Circa 1860, Dutch tortoiseshell & sterling silver spoon box with its original key. The hand engraved sterling spoon set includes 10 teaspoons, 10 demitasse coffee spoons, one sugar scoop, and one tea scoop. The interior bottom of this antique tortoiseshell spoon box is lined with red velvet and shaped to hold the 20 spoons and 2 scoops securely, and a place to put the key. It has its original red silk cushion to protect the transparent tortoiseshell lid and to help keep the sterling silver from moving.
