Rare early Art Deco three strand variegated Baltic amber necklace. The natural amber beads measure 0.5 millimeters each and were carefully selected to ensure a smooth transition of color which includes all shades from a yellow honey to a dark cognac or black cherry amber. The clasp is also amber, hand carved and polished. Purchased in Italy in the early part of the 20th century, this incredible necklace has never been worn and is in pristine condition. It measures 18.1 inches or 46 cm from clasp to clasp. We are dating this piece 1920, but it could date as early as 1880. |
