This finely detailed Chinese porcelain plate would make a fine addition to any Rose Mandarin or Rose Medallion collection. It is unusual in that the central medallion features a group of scholars. The rough and somewhat gritty bottom of the plate without any factory markings suggest a factory production circa 1850-1891. In very good antique condition, there is some wear to the enameling in one spot. See photos. Measures 9.5 inches diameter.

Early 1800's underglaze cobalt blue decorated Chinese tea bowl stands. The center of the dish is open with a raised collar and the opening designed to accommodate a footed tea bowl. The underside is decorated with concentric rings and three stylized bats. The side of the foot ring is decorated with auspicious symbols. In very good condition showing very little sign of wear. They measure 4 inches diameter, interior diameter 2 1/8" and 1 1/8" high.

Japanese paper mache document box featuring a carved lacquered tree bark background accented with cloisonne flowers and butterflies. The cloisonne was achieved by applying gold tone metal wires which were filled with colored lacquer and then hand polished. Incredible yellow gold remembrance brooch of a bouquet of flowers with 2 hearts. Created with 3 different colored hair, the bottom of the bouquet is wrapped with dark brown hair which, due to reflection problems, I was not able to photograph. Finely detailed Satsuma jar with 4 male figures comprising 2 scenes. Once scene depicts Shoki with a nobleman, the other a Samurai teacher with his student. An exception piece and what we were not able to capture in the photos is the depth and richness of the translucent glazes. Wood stand and lid were added later and are included.
