A very attractive Chinese stoneware jar with a wide ribbed body. Hand crafted with a dark celadon glaze, the inside which is brown is also glazed, can hold liquids, and can be used as a vase. There is some expected age related wear to the gold, but otherwise in good condition, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, it measures 5" high x 5" diameter (7" across if including the spout). Circa 1900.

A charming late 19th C. Chinese tea cup and saucer, displaying the traditional dragon and other design elements. The hollowed transparent holes are covered with glaze to form the ever popular rice pattern. Various symbols such as the sunburst represent the Emperor and bats for good fortune, on the underside of the teacup are various Doaist symbols. Tea cup measures 2.75" diameter x 2" high, saucer measures 4" diameter x 1" high". In excellent condition without hairlines or chips.

1950s era Chinese Rose Quartz brush washer styled as a pond having a hand carved amethyst Mandarin duck resting on the only flat spot on top. The rose quartz of a high quality and finely polished. The duck is well carved and pegged into the top and you can turn it slightly. However, I would not know if you would be asking for trouble if you tried pulling it out. A beautiful piece, it measures 4.5” long, 2.5” wide, and 2” high including duck.

Intricately hand carved Chinese plant stand with a scalloped edged marble inset. In excellent original antique condition with a beautiful warm patina, it measures 36 inches high, 21 inches outside center diameter, 13.5" across top. Circa 1860

Carved in fine detail is this deep red cinnabar box of a scholar with young boy in a garden setting. Made in the traditional method of applying many layers of cinnabar red lacquer, the carvings are deep and well executed. The inside and bottom of this box are black lacquer. In excellent condition, this box dates approximately 1910-1920 and measures about 4” x 2” (10 cm x 5 cm)

An unusual underglaze blue Chinese cricket jar with charming scenes of a scholar in garden settings. The condition is very good without chips, cracks, or hairlines. Dating circa 1900, it measures 5" across x 3.5" high.

19th C Chinese shagreen over copper eyeglass case with a carnelian toggle on silk tassel of Shou Lao, the Buddhist god of longevity. In very good antique condition having some damage that seems to have been stabilized on the upper left top edge. Measures 7 inches x 3".

A large shiwan (shekwan) sculpture of an Aesthetic riding a pomegranate red foo lion. The glaze is thick and glass-like with a natural crackle that only comes from age. The clay’s color and some ash residue (a good thing) indicate that this piece was fired in a dragon kiln about 5 - 15 miles upstream from Foshan. A large Chinese soapstone vase carved in deep relief featuring 5 birds feeding on a peony vine. In excellent condition, it measures 7.5" high by 8.5" across.

Antique Chinese skirt with green velvet panels embroidered with images of flowers and bats. It is very unusual to find these skirts with velvet panels. Measuring 39 inches long, it is in good used condition. There is some staining (water marks?)on silk areas, embroidered velvet panels in very good condition with the exception of one tear about 3" that can be easily repaired. Wear at hem border ribbon.

Chinese black silk embroidered panel with a very finely rendered butterfly over a peony. The small bright orange embroidery is the forbidden stitch. In very good condition with colors still true, only the piping showing signs of wear. No staining on the embroidered side. Measures 18.5" (47 cm) long x 9.75" (24.8 cm) wide.

An unusual pair of hand embroidered Chinese silk pouches with auspicious symbols. The color contrast is stunning, each has its original silk tassels. These pouches also have their original drawstrings yet intact. These pouches may have been used for eyeglasses and /or general use. In excellent condition with only minimal fading, which is remarkable considering their age, the pouches measure 6" (15.2 cm) long. The tassels measure 5" (12.7 cm).

A large and very rare Chinese wedding purse, this unique purse displays colorful Peking forbidden stitch done in patterns displaying various treasures. The inside is of a subtle lavender, while the outside is creme colored with slightly raise geometric designs. This clearly dates it to the early 20's. A bonus feature is fine woven solid silver wire (Not silver wrap) that adorns the sides and has two handles for ease of handling. Condition is excellent with just a very few minor loose threads....

Chinese cloisonne and enamel figurine of a peacock standing in a planter with flowers. The bird's body and the rocks are silver while the cloisens (cloisonne wiring) are both silver and gold. An unused Chinese civil 5th rank silver pheasant (baixian) badge in original paper wrapping. Background is black silk with a border of bats and the “shou” character. Eight Buddhist symbols are featured with the endless knot having been created using the forbidden stitch. Made for the front of a woman's surcoat, this rank badge is in excellent condition, measures 12", and dates late 19th century.
