A very rare and early imari that more closely resembles the kakiemon palette, but with the heavy use of gold and some under glaze blue, it would fall under the imari family group. This is a very rare dish as it displays the pomegranate fruit in the center well, its seeds being exposed as to suggest the hope of many sons. 5 cranes are symmetrically arranged, 3 on the garden rock, 2 in flight. Condition is excellent, save a very tiny glaze flake to the rim...

Man's soft grey silk under kimono with a painted image of Daruma, the Japanese God of Wishes. Two large coins using the shibori technique cross over onto the sleeves. Two pale peach washes are painted across the image area as well as swashes of small metallic gold flecks using the surihaku technique. This is a very soft, light-weight gray silk with a bright green raw silk lining. Dating to 1930s and in excellent condition, this garment measures approximately 51” across and 54” long.

Healthy Japanese babies adorn this bright red juban. Made of light weight silk with equally light weight white silk lining, this woman's juban measures 48" across the shoulders (including sleeves) and 50" long. In very good condition, it dates early Showa, 1930, though the collar appears to be newer. This is a very cheerful under garment and would be a fun piece to wear as an outer garment.

In pristine condition, is this Japanese woodblock album displaying 6 famed prints, although these are not originals, yet they are actual wood block prints done for the 1964 Olympics in Japan. Please read the label description on book cover; the woodblocks are 44 years old with no soiling, smudge, or any imperfection whatsoever. They were adapted for stamps, but each are sized image area about 5" by 7" and each come with the original acid free protective tissue paper.

Japanese Kamakura Bori fish dish or tray. Finely hand carved in the shape of a red sea bream using the Kamakura lacquer technique, this dish was made for Fitz & Floyd in the 1970's. In excellent condition, it measures 15" long, 6" at widest point.

Edo Era, circa 1850s-1860s, Japanese red lacquer over wood Japanese Bento Box in 5 sections. The exterior features Shibayama style of inlay on a red lacquer ground with the interior and underside being black lacquer. Circa 1870s-90s Japanese Hirado porcelain vase with a globular body raised on a short footrim and rising to a slender, knopped neck with everted mouth and galleried rim. Decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a falcon perched on the bole of a gnarled pine tree, a band of lappets around the foot, and the rim with a continuous key-fret border, it is in excellent condition. Measures 10.5" high x 6.5" diameter

This wonderful Japanese banko nodder is somewhat unusual in that his head nods side to side rather than front to back like most nodders on the market. Dating circa 1880-1899, he was hand molded as evidenced by indentations and finger prints left by the artist on the inside of the bell/body. In excellent condition with the exception of one repair to the neck. At some point in his history, the weight broke in half and was re-attached. No other condition issues, no chips, cracks...

A Japanese cast iron tetsubin or water kettle with an undulating rim. The sides are cast in relief with a temple compound amid pines in a generic landscape, the reverse with sparrows in flight, all above a key-fret band. The kettle has a typical stubby "S" spout, wrought iron overhead swing handle, and is fitted with a bronze lid having "garlic clove" knop...

Beautiful Meiji Era ivory napkin ring with 2 scrimshawed monkey, one of which is chasing a fly. This piece would also make an excellent stand. Dates 3rd quarter 19th century and measures 1 7/8 inches across by 1 inch high. Guaranteed ivory.

Japanese woven bamboo flower basket with original bamboo insert. Beautifully made with a variety of different sized bamboo strips and in excellent condition, it measures 13” high, 4.75 widest, 3.5 diameter. Dates pre-1990.

Lovely hand painted Japanese Kutani tea caddy with inner lid. The jar features birds in flight, a slight crackle finish, gold accents, and is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, no repairs. It is signed on the bottom. The tea caddy measures about 5.75 Inches (14.6 cm)tall. Circa 1900.

Aesthetic Movement mixed metal copper basket featuring twig and vine bronze handle with a bronze bird perched on the edge. Design on basket is reminiscent of patterns seen on Japanese textiles. An unusual work of art that can be used for fresh flowers when not on display. No condition issues, it measures 7.75" high, 8" wide, and 5.5" front-to-back.

An impressive magnifying glass with a carved ivory handle with 18 natural red coral beads. We believe the ivory handle to be a Meiji period Japanese parasol handle and sometime in its history converted to a magnifying glass. In very good antique condition with all beads intact, the handle measures 5 inches x 1 1/8". Magnifying glass with handle is 10.5 inches long.

Rare Japanese silk jacket with a woven scene from an old Edo period tale about a trickster tanooki (also known as raccoon dog or tanuki) and a nobleman or samurai who is holding a pipe. In excellent condition, the black silk is satin silk, fine and smooth.

Carved to fit the hand perfectly, this Japanese ivory page turner offers elegant design combined with function. The artists skill becomes even more evident when the page turner is held. In excellent condition save for one small shallow chip about 2-3 mm, see last photo, very hard to see, but can be felt if you run your finger slowly along the blade. The page turner measures 18.5" x 1.25".
