click for detailed views

A rare painted animal headed Western Han Dynasty (B.C. 206 - A.D. 24) Hu jar. About 95% of the original painted pigments remain in a remarkable state of preservation. This is not your typical Han Hu jar as the majority of these are of the more common duck headed types. It is extremely rare to find the leopard type. The leopard measures 32 cm (12.75") high.
