A very lovely small Japanese teapot accented with decorative running splashes of gold against a dark brown almost black backdrop. The same color can be seen on the bottom 1/5 of the teapot just under the handle and continues to include the base bottom. The copper remaining exposed copper has a deep copper patina that comes only with age and usage. The handle features intricate basketry weaving. This was a treasured teapot and would make an excellent decorative specialist addition to your home....

A small cast brass figurative weight of a man with a walking stick carrying a powder keg on his head. These weights were used by goldsmiths for weighing gold dust. This weight is of the Akan peoples of Ghana known as Ashani. Measures about 2.75 inches high. Dates early 20th century

Rare Japanese silk jacket with a woven scene from an old Edo period tale about a trickster tanooki (also known as raccoon dog or tanuki) and a nobleman or samurai who is holding a pipe. In excellent condition, the black silk is satin silk, fine and smooth.

A large 10 inch Chinese celadon porcelain plate beautifully painted in polychrome enamels featuring a bird, insects, butterflies, and flowers. The painting was well executed by an artist who had a good eye for design. In very good antique condition, there is one fine hairline measuring .75" or 1.9 cm. and 1 fleabite. Marked on the back, it dates Tongzhi Period (1862-74).

Blue and white Chinese export Canton plate measuring 8.5 inches diameter. In excellent condition, no chips, no hairlines, no frits or flea bites, just normal firing flaws. Dates circa 1830.

Early 19th C bronze Southeast Asian betel nut cutter in the anthropomorphic form of Garuda, a bird-like creature in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythology. Garuda is believed to be a powerful ever watchful protector with the ability to swiftly go anywhere. The blade is slightly bent from years of use, otherwise in very good condition, this cutter measures 6" long, 5" high, and 1.75 inches across the wings.

Rare matching set of sterling silver and blue guilloche enamel cufflinks, 6 stud buttons, and two hinged hat pins in their original box from Birks Jewelers of Canada. The hatpins are amazing, measuring 10.75 inches long. The enamel is an ice blue with slightly off white circular band with gold wiring on each side. Antique Southeast Asian iron betel nut cutter with decorative engraving. In working condition, it exhibits much rust and it is up to you to chose to oil it. Measures 6.5" long. 19th C Indonesian.

A Tibetan bronze flaying knife or chopper with a curved steel blade used in rituals by Buddhist Vajrayana priests. The flayer was a symbolic instrument and never used to really chop or flay people. Hence, the blade is dull. The blade has oxidized on both sides and there is some verdigris inside the top of the handle. Measures 6.75 inches x 7" high. Dates 1800's.

An intricately painted 19th Century or earlier Tibetan thangka featuring a wrathful black diety. It is loaded with imagery that depicts several intense scenes from floating skeletons to animals and humans being trampled. This antique thangka was used and has been consecrated or blessed. In good condition, it measures 24 inches high x 21".

Large 19th Century or earlier Chinese Tibetan thanka. Bordered with silk brocade, the thangka has a cloth backing In excellent antique condition, the thanka as pictured measures 31 inches across x 44" long. The actual thanka measures 20" across x 29" long.

Chinese hanging scroll ink rubbing of an ancient stone carving featuring Quan Yin. Rubbing dates early 2oth century. Rubbings of ancient stone carvings are illegal in China as the process damages the stone. In very good condition, the rubbing measures 39.5 inches x 21 inches. Scroll measures 30" x 56" and comes in a bamboo container.

A pair of small bronze foo dogs or foo lions created by the lost-wax casting process, showing traces from the mold. An elegant antique hand chased sterling silver pen tray, having a rectangular body with rounded ends, a fluted border. and a vacant central oval cartouche. Made in London it is hallmarked and dates 1896. This fine tray measures 7.5 inches long.
