Pair of Japanese black lacquer over brass vases with mother-of-pearl inlay. The brass is re-purposed from unused artillery shells and the vases are heavier than one would expect. One of the lips looks repaired, but the were purchased in Japan, as is, in the first half of the 20th Century. They measure about 7 inches high.

Stoutly potted pair of large blue and white porcelain Chinese foo dog censers. Each features an applied collar with beads and a tassel, a curled up-swept tail at the rear, and a turtle at their feet. The cover is in the form of the raised head with bulging eyes, mouth agape baring teeth and tongue, spiraling tufts of hair, all contributing to a fierce demeanor. Two very playful Southeast Asian panthers skillfully carved from red palm wood. They can be displayed on any one of 3 sides and look as thought they were designed to be viewed in whatever position you place them. The wood is heavy and dense feeling very much like a hardwood and weighs about 3 lbs. In excellent vintage condition, they measure 9.5 inches long by 5 inches high. Dates 20th century.

Outstanding quality best describes this 1960's sterling silver gold gilt with fire enamels on guilloche table pill box. Handmade by Italian silversmith Renato Salimbeni, even the bottom is intricately engraved. Fully hallmarked. Measures 2.5" long, 1.75" wide, and 0.75" high. This is a gorgeous matched 4-piece sterling silver coffee and tea service, made by London silversmith Frances Douglas in 1838. It is hand chased and features a floral repousse pattern. Fully hallmarked, the set consists of coffee pot, teapot, creamer, and sugar bowl. All are in excellent antique condition with the coffee pot measuring 9" high, teapot 7" long. Total weight 78 ozt. An impressive late nineteenth century cranberry glass "jack in the pulpit" English epergne. There are four lily shaped flutes in perfect condition, each having hand applied rigaree decoration and are mounted on their original brass fixings. Circa early 1800's copper Dutch coal bucket with tight fitting lid and brass claw feet. These canisters were used for remaining hot coals. The lid fit tightly; thus, lacking oxygen the coals were extinguished. Measures about 16.5 inches high. Excellent antique condition.

Japanese wood and lacquer totai cloisonne document box The carved lacquered tree bark (totai) includes two knots. The cloisonne flowers and butterfly on the top of this unusual box were achieved by using gold tone metal wires which were filled with colored lacquer and then hand polished. In excellent antique condition, it measures 13.25 inches long, 4.75" high, 2.25" high. Photos do not due justice to this large box, you will not be disappointed. Circa 1920's
